Overview

The parish of Jimbilla (2,500 inhabitants, 11,906 ha) is located in Loja canton (Loja province), 30 km north of the town of Loja.

The Flag

The flag of Jimbilla is horizontally divided yellow-green-blue. In the middle of the green stripe is placed "a white circle with ten stars". Yellow represents the resources of the soil, as well as the people's force and valor. Green represents the agricultural potential, the greenness of the fields and the relief. The "circle with the ten stars" represents the parish capital and the boroughs. Blue represents the river that waters the town and the sky that covers it.
The flag shall be hoisted in the civic acts of the parish:
- 28 November, celebration of the erection of the parish of Jimbilla:
- day of Oath to the Flag
The public institutions, the educational institutes excepted, shall hoist the flag every Monday.
