The shield depicts a hill with a stream running across it, an ear of corn, two ears of wheat, and two hands together holding a torch.
The coat of arms is flanked on both sides by the parochial and cantonal flags; their staffs are a shovel and pickaxe.
Two ribbons of green and blue come out of them. Connecting these is a pentagonal device in blue, green, white, and yellow.
Below this is the motto, "unión paz trabajo".
