On this page: See also:The German Gymnastics and Sports Association (Deutscher Turn- und Sportbund or DTSB) united all sports organizations in the country, from national soccer teams all the way to local bowling clubs and sports fishermen.

A white flag with DTSB symbol in center. The symbol showed red letters DTSB on a black hexagon, surrounded by a wreath, underneath the letters DDR for Deutsche Demokratische Republik (German Democratic Republic). The flag was flown at parades, especially during the German Gymnastics and Sports Festival (every five years, I seem to recall) and in front of sports clubs and special physical education schools.
Günther 2000 shows a red flag with the same symbol. This makes some sense since the flags of most SED-influenced organizations (except for the youth organizations) were red. However, the flag I remember from sports events and demonstrations was white. At this webpage there are pictures of an East German sports festival. At the stadium entrance (picture here) are a national flag and a white DTSB flag.
