The town of Plesná is located straight on Czechia's western border.
There are written documents from 1185 of the village being presented as
a property of the Waldsassen monastery. That time, it was an agricultural
settlement that had started in the 18th century to develop to an important
textile production centre. The textile industry substantially damped out
whereas the branche of porcelain decorations was flourishing.
