Description of the flag

From http://web.archive.org/web/20050303180713/members.aol.com/_ht_a/txflags/redriver.html

"Red River County flies a flag divided into a blue bar at the hoist and a white rectangle in the fly. The hoist bears a white Lone Star above the date of the county's organization, 1837. The fly is adorned by a stylized representation of the Red River, running from the lower left to upper right with three bends. The field also bears the inscription "Red River County," separated by the line of the river.

The flag was designed by Bettie Edwards of Clarksville in 1964 when the County Historical Society, Clarksville Chamber of Commerce and the Commissioners' Court jointly sponsored a contest open to the county's seventh and eighth grade students.

Following its adoption by the Commissioners' Court, the flag was hoisted for the first time on 18 July 1966."
