Do you remember the story of Betsy Ross making the first American flag in her upholstery shop in Philadelphia? South Webster has its flag makers, too. Vivian and Tamela Simering have designed and made two flags for the village.

The second was an official village flag adopted at the March 23, 1989 council Meeting. This nine-striped red, white and blue flag, with three gold starts, give the village history at a glance. The nine stripes represent Bloom Township, the ninth township to be formed in Scioto County in 1812.

The three gold stars represent the three township, Bloomfield 1837, Webster 1853 , and South Webster 1887. Bloomfield and Webster were separate towns that were incorporated into the village of South Webster Dec. 9, 1887. The blue equilateral triangle represents equal pride the villages take in their three sides of government - national, state and local.
