Description of the flag

The flag was designed by Luke Funk according to this Facebook post made by the village on June 23, 2023, there is also a village document from May 20, 2024 where it mentions Luke requesting the flag to be made "Official," with Solicitor Meade making a resolution on the issue. Not much else on the adoption, but the home page of the village website mentions the flag as "Official flag of Village of Sugar Grove."

The symbolism of the flag is found on a Reddit post by the flag's designer, which is explained in post:

"The green represents the forests surrounding the village. The orange and maroon represent the color of the leaves on the trees during the fall. The white represents the peacefulness and tranquility in the village. The tree is a Sugar Maple, a nod to the town’s namesake. Across the tree is the topographical symbol for “canal”, paying homage to the canal that used to run in the village. The maroon and gold stripes represent my high school, which is integral part of the village."
