Description of the flag

Bethpage is an unincorporated community and census-designate place located in the town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County.

The flag is a blue field with a seal-like emblem in the center. It was unveiled on October 6, 2024 by the Bethage Central Park Kiwanis.

  • The Horse and Carriage represents the mode of transport at the time of the Bathphage Purchase.
  • The Lunar Module was built by Grumman Corporation placing the first man on the moon.
  • The Fig Tree, and fig leaves: In the early Biblical times, Bethphage was known as the House of Figs.
  • 1687 Thomas Powell bought land called the Bethphage purchase
  • 1867 Bethphage name was changed to Central Park in an effort to promote development
  • 1936 the name was changed back to Bethpage (note tje second "H" was dropped)
