It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain purple field.

Coat of Arms

Shield Argent a bar wavy Azure charged with a barrulet wavy Argent, on chief a cross patty Gules charged with Greek cross Argent and flanked by to grape bunches Purpure leafed Vert, on base five wheat ears Vert in fan tied Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "SANTA COMBA - VILA NOVA DE FOZ CÔA".
Meaning:
The cross is that one of the Order of the Knights of Christ. The wavy example is a representation of the Côa River on the eastern edge of the commune.

Santa Comba is one of the 12 communes of Vila Nova de Foz Côa Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes; it had 145 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 30,83 km².
