Coat of Arms

Shield Azure with base wavy of Argent and Azure, three corn cobs Or set in fess, in chief a pair of keys crossed per saltire, one Or and the other Argent. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "CANEDO - SANTA MARIA DA FEIRA".
Meaning:
The crossed keys are an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint.

Shield Azure, a praying St. Mary(?) robed Gules and cloaked Azure, standing on a crescent recumbent Argent, supported from beneath by five putti Argent lined Sable, St. Mary's head is surrounded by a circle of starlets Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "FREGUESIA DO VALE".
