Santa Clara-a-Velha Commune is one of the 13 communes of the Odemira municipality (q.v.); it had 602 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 99.4 km².

Shield Or, a branch of strawberry tree Vert fruited Gules and a branch of Cork Oak Vert acorned Argent their thick ends per saltire and in chief a sheaf of wheat Or tied Azure and in base a millstone Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "PEREIRAS - GARE".
Meaning:
The arms are not canting, as "pereiras" (pl. of "pereira") means "pear tree", and "gare" means "railway station".
