Shield Azure, a mattock in bend sinister under a harpoon in bend, both Argent and crossed per saltire, flanked by a corn cob Or at dexter and a wheat ear Or at sinister, in chief a goshawk volant Or carrying an inescutcheon Azure, charged with five plates in quincunx, in base a millstone Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "FAZENDA - LAJES DAS FLORES".
Meaning:
The goshawk with Quina (the inescutcheon) is a local symbol of the Açores. The other charges are referring to agriculture and whaling.
