Coat of Arms

[COA of Lyngdal] image by Tomislav Šipek, 15 December 2015

Blazon: I grønt en stående sølv ku. In English: Vert a cow statant argent.
Approved by the royal resolution of 27 March 1987 after a drawing by Torgeir Schjølberg. [c2j88]
It appears that Lyngdal was famous for its cattle since at least 19th century and the cow was thus chosen for the arms.
