Shipmate Flagchart : http://www.flagchart.net
adopted 26 Jun 1973
There was a fourth Ermelo flag, adopted 7 Apr 1971, designed by the
Hoge Raad van Adel:
Three horizontal stripes yellow - blue - yellow, proportioned 1:4:1,
with on blue at 1/3 flaglength the image of the (former) municipal arms.
This flag was replaced by the present one on 26 Jun 1973.
Source: Vexilla Nostra (197): 113, and VN 151-63. VN concludes: it
has no special meaning...
Jarig Bakker, 21 Sep 2004
The old flag is described by Sierksma (Nederlands Vlaggenboek, 1962):
Two horizontal bars YB, with on the hoist a vertical white bar (Madagascar-style)
with the (old) municipal Coat of Arms, topped by a crown with five leaves and five
pearls.
That flag was unofficial, but in general use. Coat of Arms from the Koffie Hag
Album.

At the Shipmate site is another old flag, captioned 1938, thus probably
used by Ermeloërs for the celebrations of Queen Wilhelmina's 40 years
reigning jubilee, just bicolor yellow over blue.

Granted 20 Jul 1972. The lozenges in chief are harrows.
