Presentation of Aračinovo

The municipality of Aračinovo (in Albanian, Harachinë11,992 inhabitants in 2002, 91% of them being ethnic Albanians; 31.3 sq. km) is made of the town of the same name, located some 10 km east of Skopje, and of the three settlements of Grušino (Gruchinë), Mojanci (Mojance) and Orlanci (Orlance).

Flag of Aračinovo

A photography once available on the municipal website shows the Mayor of the town with a flag behind him. In fact that flag is a rejected proposal; it has above the shield a scroll with the name of the municipality in Albanian only. According to the Law, the name should have been written in Macedonian, and, if wished, in the second official language of the municipality, Albanian.
The municipality eventually chose a flag of a similar design without scroll and with a shield with sharp edges, as once shown on the website of the Ministry of Local Self-Government.

The former flag of Aračinovo wasonce shown on the website of the Ministry of Local Self-Government. The explanation of the flag might be rather far fetched, but possibly the shape in the flag suggest the ending slopes of the mountain Skopska Crna Gora that ends just north of Aračinovo.
