The Royal Lao flag is a three headed elephant referred to as an Erawan. The
three headed elephant actually had the layered "umbrella" looking
object over it's heads as opposed to one on either side. I may be fuzzy in my
memory but that is what I recall. This depiction almost looks Hindu in nature.

The royal flag of Laos was red with a large centered coat-of-arms covering most of the flag.
