Located in Setagaya City Tokyo and established in 1979. The Embroidered ceremonial flag has orange background with a blue university emblem and written horizontally in blue English abbreviated university name SANNO and gold kanji abbreviated university name 産能大学in gold fringe. The university flag has red, white and red vertical three stripes with multicolor flag emblem in the center. The university emblem is a design of the American dogwood, the university's campus tree, which expresses gentleness and softness as well as strength supported by tradition and a sense of dynamism toward a new era. The American dogwood is a deciduous tall tree planted on campus as the university's campus tree. In spring around April, it produces white, pink, and red flowers along with new leaves. The American dogwood was given to the city of Tokyo at the end of the Meiji period (1868-1912) as a gift in return for cherry blossoms given to the city of Washington, and today its flowers can be seen all over Japan. The flag emblem consists of a white-petaled American dogwood, the school flower, in the center, five brown lines in a blue circle behind it indicating the "Five Ways of Efficiency" and "Ten Lessons of Efficiency," the basis of founder Yoichi Ueno's philosophy of efficiency, and a black circle around it. To the right is a book on management written by Yoichi Ueno. The left is a diagram showing the concept of "impossible, useless, irregular" The circular emblem with the name of the school in English at the top and the year of foundation 1925 at the bottom.
