Lord of the Tago domain in Shimofusa Province, he served on the Tokugawa side during the Osaka Winter Campaign of 1614. He was given 10,000 goku of Kikuta in Mutsu Province and 10,000 goku in Noto Province. The war banner has white background with three black three comma-shaped design. Another war banner has white background with two black three comma-shaped (magatama) design.

The pattern, as a specifically Japanese one, shall be called by its Japanese name "tomoe, or in this particular case, "triple tomoe" (there are also single, double and quadruple tomoe patterns).

Furuta Shigekatsu

He served under Toyotomi Hideyoshi and participated in the battles of Kyushu and Odawara. He joined the Korean invasion and became the lord of Matsuzaka Castle in Ise Province with 55,000 goku. The war banner has navy blue background with three three horizontal stripes in circles in white. The horizontal stripes Kamon has been used since the Genpei period (1180-1185) and is often associated with the Minamoto and Ashikaga clans.
