Nishitokyo city in Tokyo adopted its emblem: 21 January 2002 by Notice No 43. The emblem represents nature, creativity and full of life. No flag legislation but they have a flag: flag proportion: 2:3; colour of field: white; colour of emblem: green; diameter of emblem: 3/5 flag height

"保谷市" (English: Hoya City) was established in 1868, adopting the name "保谷村" (English: Hoya Village) on April 1, 1889, and adopting the name "保谷町" (English: Houya-chō) in 1940 and finally adopting its final name "保谷市" (English: Hoya City) on January 1, 1967. It was merged with Tanashi on January 21, 2001 to form the new Municipality of Nishitokyo.

"田無市" (English: Tanashi) was established in 1868, adopting its name on April 1, 1889, and adopting the full name of Tanashi City on January 1, 1967. It was merged with Hoya on January 21, 2001 to form the new Municipality of Nishitokyo.
