The town emblem was adopted on Jul 1st 2006 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue, a green and an orange three color town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized hiragana み Mi of Minamiaizu. The blue color stands for fresh streams of Aga River and Ina River, the green color for the forests and the ground and the orange color for a warm feeling town people. It represents an image of the town people who vividly makes a leap forward in an abundant nature.

The former Tajima Town became a part of Minamiaizu Town on Mar 20th 2006.

The kanji character “田” (ta) has been stylized into the shape of the Southern Cross, symbolizing Aizu’s location to the south and its aspiration toward the south.
