Description

This new municipality was established in 2003 by uniting Municipality of Yehud and the Local Council of Newe Ephraim (Monosson). The new Municipality of Yehud-Monoson kept Yehud symbols with new inscription, while the new Local Administration of Newe Monoson kept the former emblem and flag too.
Note that the name Newe Ephraim was enforced in the oast by the Ministry of the Interior as the locals prefer Newe Monoson. The compromise was to officially name it Newe Ephraim (Monoson).
It seems that there were a few stages until the current name was accepted. In one image at images.one.co.il [retrieved] the inscription is Newe Yehud Monosson ...
Together with the symbols a Tehud green flag was also adopted (with a new inscription as seen at www.amutakesher.org.il [retrieved] (the right flag).
The joined municipality got 25'000 inh. only one tenth of them in Newe Monosson. Homepage at www.yehud-monosson.muni.il [partially retrievable].

It consists of a shield with a white border and a blue field. The emblem is divided lengthwise by a depiction of a palm tree, which is mentioned in the Bible as a tree that bears sweet fruit and is one of the Four Species. The additional motifs in the emblem are:

A lion cub of Judah breaking chains – situated to the left of the palm tree. The lion cub of Judah is the symbol of the tribe of Judah; according to tradition, its founder, Judah son of Jacob, is buried in the Independence Park in the Yehud area. The breaking of the chains symbolises the city's liberation from foreign occupiers.

Residential and industrial buildings – situated to the right of the palm tree. These symbolise industry and development in the city.

A plough – situated to the right of the palm tree. This symbolises agriculture and the cultivation of the land in the city.

At the bottom of the emblem appears a verse from Jacob's blessing to Judah [see above], in which he recognises him as the leader of his brothers.
