Description

The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), YP 1734, 1st July 1971 (as a Local Council at that time).

Karmi'el is situated on the side of Acre-Zefat road (road 85), 22 km off Acre, in Biq'at Bet-Ha'Kerem (Vineyard House Valley), the border between the Upper and Lower Galilee's. Established in 1964. Municipality since 1984 with population of about 43'000 (2003).
The emblem's main motif is the anemone flower.

The coat of arms consists of a shield with a blue border and a white field, at the bottom of which is the inscription "Karmiel" in Hebrew. The shield features several symbols:

An anemone – red in colour, the most common wildflower in the area.

The sun – yellow in colour, symbolising the city's growth and renewal.

Mountains – green in colour, symbolising the city's geographical location amongst the mountains of the Galilee.

Rocks – white in colour, symbolising the city's origins.
