Montbonnot-Saint-Martin (5,495 inhabitants in 2021; 638 ha) is a commune in the Isère department.
Montbonnot-Saint-Martin has two main parts: Montbonnot le haut, the upper part of the town, where the town hall and its park dominate the Grésivaudan valley and offer a breathtaking view of the Belledonne range; Montbonnot le bas, formerly Saint-Martin-de-Miséré, hosts in particular the science park Inovallée and the École des pupilles de l'air (high school dependent on the Ministry of Defence).
Montbonnot was a wine-growing village until the middle of the 20th century. Montbonnot le bas experienced unprecedented economic development in the 2000s, moving from a rural landscape to a modern industrial zone dotted with recent dwelling. Extending the Inovallée area of Meylan, many companies settled there, such as Sun for example.

The flag is white with the coat of arms: photo.
The arms of Montbonnot are blazoned:
Party per bend sinister 1. Or a dolphin contourned Azure, finned, scaled and eared Gules; 2. Vert two fir trees Sable bendwise sinister, overall a wavy bar Argent and Azure, debruised by a lozenge Azure charged with a letter M Or.
The representation of the coat of arms in use in the commune shows the fir trees in dark green.
