Presentation of Almudévar

Almudévar is a municipality located in the province of Huesca, Aragon, Spain. It has 2,462 inhabitants on 20,119 ha.

Description

Municipality of Almudévar in the Province of Huesca, Aragon, has its own symbols. Diputacion General de Aragon authorize the Ayuntamiento de Almudévar to rehabilitate its coat of arms and flag on 28.04.1992.

Coat of arms:
The current coat of arms, which was made official in 1992, being the coat of arms that was habitually and traditionally used, was displayed in the Assembly Hall of the City Hall, being a copy of the motifs contained in the coat of arms sculpted on the facade of the City Hall and dated 1702, which is based on the characters of a seal from the year 1503, the oldest known, and whose original imprint is preserved in the Provincial Historical Archive of Huesca.
Consequently, the shield today is rounded, divided into four quarters: one upper, one lower, and two central. In the upper quarter are four Moorish kings' heads, two facing right and two facing left; in the central quarters, on the right are the four bars of Aragon placed vertically like staffs, and on the left, a gold bushel on a green field; in the lower quarter, on a silver field, is a castle with three towers in its natural color. The shield is surmounted by an open royal crown.
Flag:
The flag is made of red-purple cloth and bears the town's coat of arms in the center. Its dimensions are: its length is three-half its width.
