    Waiblingen Coat of Arms

    In a silver (= white) shield are three black,fessy antlers ordered per pale. The shield has a plain black chief.
    Meaning:
    Count Ulrich of Württemberg founded the city in 1250. Prints of seals showing the antlers exist since 1291. The chief was added in 1535 and appeared on seals since 1559. The chief and the silver colours were marks of differentiation. Waiblingen is the capital of Rems-Murr County. Waiblingen had been a stronghold of the Staufen kin. From Waiblingen the denotation "Ghibellines", i.e. men of Waiblingen, is derived.
