Shield parted per pale of Argent and Gules charged with a fleur-de-lis in counterchanged tinctures, base Azure covered with concentrical parts of circles Argent.
Meaning:
The fleur-de-lis is taken from the family arms of the Welser kin, patricians living in Augsburg. Bartholomäus Welser acquired the village in 1540 and built the local castle in 1557. The tombstones of the family are in the local parish church. The village remained a possession of the family until 1601. The concentric circles are symbolising airwaves, as Amberg had been the location of Europe's strongest short-wave transmitter.
