Bodelshausen Coat of Arms

The shield is divided per fess into red over gold (= yellow). Above is a golden (= yellow), passant lion. Below is a black, sinister facing attire.
Meaning:
In 1683 a double hook (or wolf trap) is proven as alocal symbol oft he village on border stones. In the current pattern the lion is taken from the arms of the Lords of Ow-Bodelshausen, who lived here in the 14th and 15th century. Due to heraldic rules he is depicted in inverted colours. The attire is symbolizing Württemberg, which gained the sovereignty over the village in 1409, finally between 1446 and 1453. The sinister facing version is probably a reduction.

The banner was approved on 6 October 1982 by the county administration, published in GABl 560/1983. The coat of arms was adopted by the local council around the turn of the year 1933.
