Saldenburg Coat of Arms

Shield Sable a fess Or charged with a coronet Azure, chief parted per fess embattled of Gules and Argent.
Meaning:
All charges are referring to former owners of the local castle. The golden fess on black is taken from the arms of the Tuschel of Söldenau kin. Heinrich the Tuschel built the castle around 1368. The embattlements are taken from the arms of the Counts of Preysing, who acquired the Saldenburg district (Bavarian: Hofmark) in 1679. They owned it until the 19th century. The coronet is an attribute of the Three Wise men, local patron saints of the chapel in the castle.
