The ratio is 3:5. It is a light blue over yellow horizontal bicolour. The coat of arms is in the centre of the flag.

In a golden (= yellow) shield upon a light blue base wavy is a red castle with an embattled tower and port and windows golden (= yellow).
Meaning:
Meersburg developed around the castle of the Bishops of Konstanz, was administrative seat of the bishops and gained city rights in 1299. The oldest seal is known since 1335 and displayss a castle (Burg) upon a base wavy, symbolizing the Bodensee aka Swabian Sea. The arms are thus canting. Since 1500 the pattern is also known from arms of the city. Even though the composition has not changed, the shape and size of the castle has changed considerably during the centuries. Former flags had been black - yellow or red - white. According to Stefan Schwoon neither the time frame nor the occasions of the changes are mentioned in literature.
