Offenberg Coat of Arms

Shield Argent a gonfanon Gules with fringes and annulets Or, base embattled Gules.
Meaning:
The embattled base is stressing the importance of the local castle and the Offenberg district (Bavarian: Hofmark). The gonfanon is taken from the arms of Count Anton of Montfort, who owned the district between 1688 and 1724. He also caused the edification of the castle. The gonfanon was already known by a copper engraving of Michael Wening (1645 - 1718).
