Description of the flag

The flag features the municipality's logo, which was unveiled on May 3, 2005 for the 125th anniversary of the community.

The history of the municipality is also available.
Phil Nelson, 15 August 2006

Argyle is an area where both French and English are spoken - it includes one of the larger French enclaves in Nova Scotia, part of the Acadian community. Argyle Municipality is the south half of Yarmouth county - Yarmouth municipality is the north half, and is dominantly English. I was just around that shore last week, first time in a few years, and was really struck by the large number of Acadian flags now flying there - there always were a lot, but now they are really abundant.
