Moordtgat Scheepsherstellingen (ship repair) is based at Antwerp. The company started as a smithy founded by Gerard Moordtgat in 1949, and is still a family business led by son Alfons from 1972 on. The company has four docks (not drydocks, ships are partially lifted out of the water) at its disposal and is specialized in repairing screws.

A pennant of the company (maybe an advertizing item rather than an official house flag) was on sale on eBay Belgium (French language) in May 2005. The pennant, in size 50 x 110 cm, is white, bordered in red, bearing near the hoist the company logotype made of a red letter M and of a black ship and to the right of it the words, all serifed, "scheepsherstellingen" / "p.v.b.a." / "MOORDTGAT", the last word on a separate line, much bigger, and in capitals. The legal abbreviation p.v.b.a. has now become b.v.b.a. (limited liability company).
