Coat of Arms

The coat of arms reflects the significant importance of agriculture until about World War II. After the war, its importance declined, whilst industrial enterprises such as the chalk factory, the paint and varnish factory, or the PET recycling plant grew in importance (The homepage of the communal website presents – unusually, and in contrast to the arms – a photo of the chalk factory). No information was found about the coat of arms, but the agricultural motifs suggest that it is of an older date. On the flags the shade of red of the arms is differing from the red of the background stripe.
