Description of the flag

The federal agency responsible for disbursing civilian foreign aid; I saw its flag on the news, at a televised press conference: white with the text USAID in large caps, the ''US" blue and the "AID" red, with the agency seal above then and off-center, over the S in "US."

USAID is a government agency that was set up to help developing nations either recover from a natural disaster or to develop their governmental structure. It was created after the passage of the Foreign Assistance Act in 1961.

The flag is described at as a logo on a white field. The flag itself is 3x5 in ratio. There are also vertical banners used by USAID as described in the linked PDF file (which is a part of a whole identity manual used by USAID).

Using the branding guide at, I was able to improve the image above. At (display in Afghanistan with the US and Afghan flags), the seal is centered above the text (and during official uses, the fringe is blue).
