We used to live about 50 kilometres below Pullman, Washington where Washington State University is located, and attended quite a few "Wazzu" athletic functions. Additionally we attended a lot of athletic functions at the University of Idaho, as the two universities are literally right next to each other, divided only by the Idaho/Washington state line.

I am not sure when Washington State University first started using the logo on these flags, but it had been drawn up by at least 1989 for sure, as it was very prominently displayed on many things associated with WSU when we arrived that year.

I regularly saw the 3 attached flags at sports functions, usually sizes 3x5 feet.

WSU's team colors are "cherry" red, silver, and white, thus the flags and their colors.

I don't see any evidence that the geographically separate, but centrally-administered campuses in Vancouver, Spokane and Tri-Cities have their own flags.
