Miami Dade College, or simply Miami Dade or MDC, is a state college located in Miami, Florida. It was founded in
1959 and opened in 1960 as Dade County Junior College. In 1973 it was renamed Miami-Dade Community College (MDCC) and on May 24, 2003 the Florida legislature changed its name to its current format. It is the largest institution of higher education in Florida, and the second-largest in the United States. Miami Dade College's main campus, the Wolfson Campus, is in Downtown Miami.

The flag Albert mentions is actually the new flag. "The new flag has eight (blue horizontal) stripes (and nine white stripes, beginning with white) representing the college's eight campuses and its logo (very similar to this one:
profileengine.com) in the center. It was officially unveiled on September 4, 2013.

It is most likely that any of the previous seals and logos (www.mdc.edu) were used in the previous flag.

The 1962 yearbook (http://www.mdc.edu/archives) features a picture which shows (what seems to be) the first flag (page 159). The image here is cropped from above mentioned source. The picture caption reads: "Princess Pearlie McClellan and Barbara Colson ride a float in the Orange Blossom Parade". It seems that these two students were (at one point) crowned in a beauty pageant and were participating in the representation of their College in this parade. "The Orange Blossom Parade (Classic) was an annual post-season college football game held between 1933 and 1978. Each year, it featured Florida A&M and another historically black school in an unofficial de facto championship game. It was seen as a mythical "Black National Championship" game."

Notice that the flag seems to display the 1960 seal with slightly minor changes (i.e. the font in the outer circle on the flag is smaller than the one featured on the logo).
