The red circle is a representation of the buckeye. The red spokes represent the roads leading to the city as the county seat. The white triangles are for the seven hills of the city. Meanwhile, red and white symbolize the past and future interweaving. 1887 is the city’s incorporation year. The swallowtail mirrors the state flag’s design. Leland Pennington designed the flag in 1982.
