Description of the Flag

The township flag was adopted in 1958 and shows four phases of the Township's activities: community, education, industry and progress. It is red with a colored seal on it. Information and photo sent by Eileen Birch, Township Clerk.

About the township:
"Union is a Township in Union County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the township had a total population of 54,405.
Union Township was incorporated as a township by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on November 23, 1808, from portions of Elizabeth Township, while the area was still part of Essex County. It became part of the newly-formed Union County on March 19, 1857."
