The flag

The flag for Anson County, North Carolina, was rendered on Wikipedia last December but it can also be seen on Google Streetview independently to confirm its validity. The flag is divided into two fields by a broad rising blue bar with the word "ANSON" inside in all white capitals with a white star on each side of the word. The top field is white and has the year 1750 in the top-left corner in red. The bottom field is red and has the year 1768 in the bottom-right corner in white.

1750 is when Anson County was formed, and 1768 was when some of the North Carolina 'Regulators' (a rebel group at the time) took over the county courthouse and wrote a large grievance essay known as the Anson Regulators Protest Paper, which basically complained about taxation without representation. This was during the earlier years of the American Revolution.
