Description of the flag

The flag for the village of Riverdale, Illinois, shows the village seal centered on a white field. The seal contains olive-colored garlands, a blue ribbon with the village motto, "A village with a vision", the word Riverdale, and a tree, all superimposed on a red silhouette of Illinois on a deeply saturated ocean water background. The outer circle of the seal reads "SEAL OF THE VILLAGE OF RIVERDALE ILLINOIS" and "December 28, 1892".

Riverdale is located in Cook County, and directly borders Chicago to the south. As of the 2020 census, it was 3.75 square miles (9.71 sq km) in size and had a population of 10,663.
