The Town of Groton's flag is pretty much the same as [the white flag] below except it is now yellow and the seal is more simplistic.

Groton is a town located on the Thames River in New London County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 39,907 at the 2000 census. Groton is the home of the Electric Boat Corporation, which is the major contractor for submarine work for the United States Navy, and the Navy's SUBASE New London. The pharmaceutical company Pfizer is also a major employer. Groton is the location of Submarine Training School. Notice the "T" in the flag. That is the sail of a submarine with the fairwater planes sticking out.

According to the April 8, 1981 issue of The Day, the flag of Groton was adopted on the night of April 7 by the town council after a flag design contest. The flag was designed by Donald R. Berger. This contest had fourteen entries, and five were recommended to the council by the Groton Arts Committee. The background as adopted was described as being ivory or off-white.
