The current DC Statehood Green Party (which is the result of the merger of the DC Statehood and Green parties) unfurled a variant of the DC flag with the lettering "DC Statehood Now!" in black san-serif lettering on September 11,
2006.

The flag is depicted on the homepage of the party www.dcstatehoodgreen.org,
but not the first flag one sees on the page. A better depiction is shown at www.dcstatehoodgreen.org/notes/notes.php?annc_id=160§ion_id=7 where it is noted "In the tradition of using earth friendly products, the flag was specially made for the DC Statehood Green Party and consists of hemp fabric and soy-ink."
The DC Statehood Green Party can trace its roots to 1971 when the DC Statehood Party was formed to advocate for statehood. Around 1999, the Green Party in DC merged with the Statehood Party to form the DC Statehood Green Party.
