A white square cloth with green and yellow stripes extending from the center to the corners, divided diagonally. In the center is a small coat of arms of the city.

The shield is crossed with gold and greenery. In the first part there is a red gear with a silver cherry blossom placed on it (according to the description – "stone fruit tree"), the core of which looks like seven golden beehives in a circle. In the second part there is a silver open book with a gold cover, on which a golden cross is placed. The shield is framed by a decorative cartouche, crowned with a silver city crown with three turrets and placed on golden hammers in an oblique cross. Under the shield there is a silver ribbon with the inscription "Melitopol" in black letters, the ends of the ribbon are in the colors of the State Flag of Ukraine.

The logo is made of yellow honeycombs and blue cogs. These two colours represent the ukrainian flag. On the right part the city name is written, with a slogan below saying "HERE ... A COMFORTABLE AND SAFE CITY!". The logo was also used as a flag multiple times.
