The coat of arms and flag of Duplek are prescribed by Decision Odlok o grbu, zastavi, občinskem prazniku ter priznanjih občine Duplek, adopted on 20 February 1995 and published on 28 February 1997 in the regional official gazette Medobčinski uradni vestnik štajerske in Koroške regije, 2/1997.
The Decision was amended in 2002 without changing anything on the municipal symbols.

The flag is vertically divided blue-yellow-blue, with the municipal coat of arms in the middle stripe.

The coat of arms of Duplek is "Per bend sinister, or a dragon with the body of a snake sable spitting fire gules, azure a raft bendwise or".
The dragon is part of the coat of arms of the rulers of Vurberk, presumably the old name of the municipality. The raft is of a kind that is used traditionally on the river Drava.
