Coat of arms

The arms are Sable a pale wavy Argent, over all two keys per salire, bendy key Or, sinister bendy key Argent, both tied Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading "RIBEIRA SECA - RIBEIRA GRANDE" in black upper case letters.
Meaning:
ribeira seca means dry creek and the arms are thus partly canting, wavy charge being Argent, not wavy Argent and Azure; the keys are the tokens of St. Peter, patron of the local conterminous and eponym Catholic parish, whence the commune was created.
António Martins-Tuválkin, 27 June 2010

Flag and arms adopted and published in the official journal Diário da República: III Série on 24 January 1998
