Symbols are in use unofficially, as commune had been dissolved in 2013 and source at least until 2018 displayed just an empty shield with scroll and mural crown with three visible towers. furthermore it had never been offialised, as the arms don´t match heraldic tincture rules, and the Comissão de Heráldica da Associação dos Arqueólogos Portugueses (CHAAP) does not allow partitions of the shield.
