Shield Argent two crosses calvary Sable in fess, in chief an oak eradicated and leafed Gules, issuant from base a craggy mount Vert. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE MEIXEDO E PADORNELOS".

Presentation of Meixedo e Padornelos

Meixedo e Padornelos is one of the five communes of Montalegre Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 265 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 35,76 km².

Meaning:
The CoA of the new commune is basicly the same as that one of former Meixedo commune, altered by merely changing the tinctures of the oak and the rocks — although the blazon was constructed differently with the oak now speficically in chief.

Meixedo was one of the 18 communes of Montalegre Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 209 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 20,82 km².

Former Padornelos Commune (until 2013)

Presentation of Padornelos

Padornelos didn´t have officialized symbols as of disestablishment and might have not even started the process. It was one of the 18 communes of Montalegre Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 124 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 15,52 km². Source displays just an empty shield.
