Shield Argent, a chestnut tree eradicated Vert fruited Or flanked by two baskets Gules garnished Or, in base a plough Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "VILA NOVA - MIRANDA DO CORVO".
Meaning:
The charges refer to the rural character of the commune. The chestnut tree is representing the floral area of the Lousã Ridge (Serra da Lousã) and the local artwork. The wood of the many willow (!) trees is used by the locals in order to make baskets and clogs (timber shoes), the stones in order to make sculptures. The plough is representing agriculture as an important business line.

Presentation of Vila Nova

Vila Nova Commune is one of the four communes of the Miranda do Corvo municipality (q.v.); it had 970 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 27.1 km².
