Coat of Arms

Shield Vert a fess Argent masoned Sable, irregularly like a rubble wall, flanked on chief by an angle Argent between two oak twigs Or fruited Argent, on base by a bull statant Or armed Sable. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and long white scroll, as used by united communes, reading in black upper case serifed letters "JARMELO SÃO PEDRO".
Meaning:
Fess and bull are taken from the former arms of Jarmelo São Pedro Commune, angle and twigs from those of the former Gagos Commune. The flag colours had been those of Jarmelo (yellow) and Gagos (green).

Old Coat of Arms (- 2013)

Shield Purpure a fess Argent masoned Sable, flanked on chief by two keys in saltire, the bendy one Or and the sinister bendy one Argent, on base by a bull statant Or armed Sable. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "JARMELO - S. PEDRO".
Meaning:
The keys are an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint, the bull is alluding to local kettle breeding.

Shield Argent two oak twigs Vert fruited Or, accompanied on chief by a winged lion statant guardant Gules numbed Or, holding an open book of the same by his forepaws, on base by an angle Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "GAGOS - GUARDA".
Meaning:
The winged lion with book is an attribute of St. Mark, the local patron saint.

Presentation of Gagos

Gagos was one of the 18 communes of Guarda Municipality affected by the 2013 changes. It had 127 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 10,14 km².
