Shield Argent, cork oak eradicated Vert peeled Gules and fruited Or, upon roots three wheat ears Or tied Gules and set fanwise, the whole flanked by two grapes Purpure leaved Vert. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "VILA ALVA"
Meaning:
The silver colour of the shield is symbolizing happiness, purity, truth, righteousness, friendship, it reminds on the still healthy environment, peace and success.The oak is representing fertility and the production of cork as an important business line. The grapes are symbolizing viticulture. The grain is symbolizing agricultural production and the red ribbon is symbolizing the union of the municipality.
